Gavin Turek [2021] - Illusions [Madame Gold Records]

Gavin Turek is undoubtedly a female artist from the visuals (despite the name!) from L.A who self-released an EP "Good Luck For You" in 2017 on her own Madame Gold label. The latest single, "Illusions", is the title track, and lead single, from her debut album due on 23 Jul 2021.

It's her second single release this year following "Slide" featuring bLAck pARty which came out at the end of April, and will also feature on her debut album.

Prior to her self-released EP she had recorded several singles as a solo artist and as a featured artist (mainly with TOKiMONSTA) from as far back as 2013.

The Shindellas [2021] - When You're Lonely [Weirdo Workshop LLC]

Hot on the heels of their previous release "Volcana Love"  (13 Jun), The Shindellas release a new single, "When You're Lonely", on 4 Jul 2021.

It's a very smooth and melodic, soulful balled written by their mentors, and Louis York members, Charles Harmon and Claude Kelly, which I prefer to their last effort, although it has an odd rock guitar solo featured at around 4 mins, but that can be faded out as nothing happens afterwards!

Silk Groove Revue & Uncle Rob [2021] - Last Chance [Self Released]

As you can probably detect from the vocals, Uncle Rob (aka Robert C. Maron Jr.) is a veteran artist who began performing in 1970. He joined The Silk Groove Revue, founded by Chris 'Silk' Terry, after being with The Legacy Motown  Revue.

In his career, Chris 'Silk' Terry has toured with soul legends such as The Drifters, The Coaster, Four Tops, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, The O'Jays and Little Anthony & The Imperials.

The group are from South Carolina and needless to say seem to be popular on the SC beach circuit singing oldies.

"Last Chance" is classic soul which reminds me of the sort of material the The Temptations were doing late 90/noughties.

Kenyon Dixon & PJ Morton [2021] - Escape [Self Released]

A new single, "Escape", from Kenyon Dixon with PJ Morton was released 30 Jun 2021.

Kenyon Dixon is from L.A. and has been releasing music since 2014 with almost a dozen singles and five official albums (and one "Supafly" released on BandCamp) already released.

The latest single is a track (not featured on his last album,  "Expectations", released in. Jan 2021) with Grammy award winning (whilst in Maroon 5) PJ Morton from New Orleans who dueted with Ledisi on "Anything For You", a track from her last studio album, "The Wild Side", although the duet version did not appear on the album. (posted here in Jan 2021).
