Martha Starr [] - Sweet Temptation [Charay C-35]
Played by Butch in early 90s covered up as Tobi Lark. This is quality mid-tempo / crossover 'right up my street'!

It turns out that 'Sweet Temptation' was also recorded on Charay by Cressa Watson who also recorded as Carolyn Sullivan on Philips. I think this version just edges it for me over Martha Starr's !

Cresa Watson [] - You're No Good [Charay C-90]
The thing is when you start browsing around You Tube is that it leads you in sorts of directions.  Having liked the Cressa Watson's Sweet Temptation it lead me down another path ...

This track appeard on Funk Spectrum III compilation
The plot thickens ... she also recorded this as Carolyn Sullivan AND apparently Ede Robin also recorded it.  It was written by Moses Dillard (featured in an earlier post)  and there's the connection with Ede Robin who recorded the vocal version of Dillards' Sons Of Moses - 'Soul Symphony', the vocal being named 'There Must Be A Love Somewhere'.

Lydia Pense (of Cold Blood) along with Tower of Power covered this tune on an album called 'Lights Out San Francisco' that goes on for 7:11 min.
